THE CLUB EXPERIENCE

The Mayfair Club was established to provide our best clients with opportunities to meet and share knowledge, experiences and the simple pleasure of enjoying a sensational bottle in fellowship with other wine enthusiasts. We drew on our heritage as a wine club to establish an exclusive membership society for our clients. There are currently member chapters in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Beijing.

Club members enjoy access to exclusive events, such as private meetings with celebrated vintners, visits to renowned chateaux and tutored tastings with wine professionals, insider opportunities to order rare wines, and special advisory services such as cellar consultation, professional valuations and inventory management.
Our signature year-end Gala Tastings unite the world’s finest and rare wines, wine producers, cuisines, wine experts and friends in different cities in Greater China. A hallmark of our events is the blending of contemporary Chinese culture and cuisine with fine wines by deliberate selection of venues, menus, chef and topics of interest.
As examples, Mayfair sponsored the wine for a May 2013 event held by the Nature Conservancy, a cross-disciplinary gathering of leaders from China and the Southern California to address and explore the challenges and opportunities facing the planet. On less serious notes, Mayfair hosted a six course tapas evening for clients with George Levkoff, Principal of George Wine Company, at Fofo by el Willy in Central, Hong Kong, with a different 2009 wine for each of the courses. In Beijing and Guangzhou, Mayfair joined hands with Chateau Le Pin to host two small private wine dinners in a traditional Chinese Private Club and the Ritz Carlton Hotel with vineyard owner Jacques Thienpont and his wife Fiona Morrison, Master of Wine, on their first visit to China.


At the highest level of Mayfair Club membership, our marketing team and the assigned account manager work together to organize special Private Tastings with a member’s favorite bottles of wine and to plan customized Wine Region Trips to favorite wine makers. From experience, we understand how to customize these programs for our members’ enjoyment.
Mayfair Club members have priority for first selection and orders for new offerings through emailed alerts and regular newsletters. Past examples of special opportunities for members include en primeur orders for consecutive Bordeaux seasons and the chance to personalize a barrel of Hospice de Beaune.
Mayfair Club offers a tailored Cellar Management Solution for each member, which includes a personal consultation. The Solution manages client wine portfolios on an ongoing basis, recommending timing for consumption and conditions for cellaring, new acquisitions, replacement acquisitions, arranging worldwide delivery and storage facilities. We also provide physical inventory assessment and data management services. Clients receive quarterly reports, detailing inventory and changes and with annual valuations. Members can also avail themselves of our wine research service, which provides information on wines Mayfair may not stock.
